Habitudes II: Creating Categorical Change

All human motivation can be understood as a desire to fill a basic human need. So if we want to direct our lives, we must understand what and how our basic human needs drive our thoughts and behavior.

Yes, environment and events play a major role our mental and emotional development. And, as we learn in Habitudes I, habits shape our lives far more than we realize.

However, it is the meaning we attach to our environment and events, and how we interpret them that shape who we are and determine our outcomes.

We often know what we need to do to effect massive categorical change. Yet, when it comes right down to it, we don't. We stay complacent.

So how do you change and start taking durable prodigious action? Simple. By understanding what drives you by:

  • Discussing the Six Basic Human Needs -- the driving force and motivation behind everything we do.
  • Examining our lives through metaphor and meaning
  • Exploring core foundational beliefs -- the roots of our belief system

The goal of this talk is to guide you to a better understanding of yourself at a very deep and useful level. I look forward to taking you on this journey.
